Head of Childcare and Early Learning
My name is Sandra Sweeten. Prior to taking up my post here at the Family Legacy I spent 15 years developing and managing community based services in the mental health, learning disability and homelessness field. It was during my time working within the homelessness field I realised that a lot of the adults with whom I worked were experiencing difficulties in their life due to complexities and experiences they had had when in childhood. I was fortunate to gain the post of Service Manager within Aberlour Child Care Trust with a focus on the management and development of a 3 year Action Research Service in the North of Glasgow looking at improving outcomes for children affected by the impact of parental substance use. Along with my staff team we further developed the service and remained operational for a further 5 years with a focus on improving children’s long term life chances and raising educational attainment. I am a committed and enthusiastic individual with a passion to influence early interventions in a child’s life to help them to realise their full potential.
